A sensor for use in the automatic control of an agricultural machine wherein a change in distance from a crop boundary or row of plants, is transmitted as a positional change to the solenoid plunger of an inductive transmitter comprises a housing (1) connectible to an agricultural machine and a rotatably journalled spring-loaded pin (2) with a crank pin (3), which is mounted at the front end of the pin (2) and which bears against a collar (13) of a spring-loaded, displaceable sleeve connected to a push rod (11) of the plunger. Mounted on the pin (2) opposite to the crank pin (3) is a lever arm (5) with a rotatably journalled and spring-loaded pin (6), to which are attached a feeler element (7), which is movable along a crop boundary or row of plants, and a stop (25). A stop (26) co-operable with the stop (25) is mounted on the lever arm (5) and a peg (14) projects from the pin (2) and into a recess of the housing (1). When a crop boundary 28 is sensed by movement of arm 7, this movement is transmitted to pin 2 as a rotational movement and as a result plunger 9 of the transmitter 10 is displaced by pin 3. <IMAGE>

The invention relates to agricultural machinery, namely, devices that provide automatic driving of self-propelled agricultural harvesting machines, mainly for driving corn combine harvesters on a number of plants or planting borders.
A device is known that includes probing elements located on rotary housings around stationary axles that actuate sensors (GDR Patent No. 113684, class A 01 B 69/04).
However, the known device is characterized by insufficient moisture resistance, large dimensions, a large moment of inertia of the mass of the rotating housing, and an unsuccessful mounting system on the harvesting machine.
The purpose of the invention is to ensure the moisture resistance of the sensor due to reliable sealing of the point of connection of the probe to the sensor and the reduction of the dimensions of the device.
The goal is achieved by installing a bearing in the housing, mounted on an agricultural machine, and an axis provided with a cylindrical spring, on the inner end of which there is a crank pin abutting the shoulder of a spring-loaded movable sleeve connected to the stem, while securing on the outer end of the shaft a lever with a trunnion mounted on it in a bearing, fitted with a spring and a probe probe, interacting with the stand of the plantations or a number of plants, with the stop of the trunnion cap mounted so that it can work together with an emphasis on the lever, and the pin of the axis moves along the groove in the housing.
A coil spring is installed in the undercut of the body, fixed at one end in the hole in the case, and the other in the hole of the centering washer, which is rigidly connected to the shaft and lever.
A cylindrical spring is installed under the cap rigidly connected to the trunnion, while the spring is previously inserted in the direction opposite to the winding of the spring of the body, and its ends are fixed in the lever and the cap, respectively, which is provided with a stop.
The probe stylus, made in the form of a straight or curved rod, is reinforced
in the transverse hole of the trunnion with a locking screw installed in the axial threaded hole.
The transverse hole in the axle for mounting the sensor probe is figured - its profile is predominantly four or
hexagonal.

The proposed probing device provides full waterproofness of the sensor and allows to significantly reduce its dimensions, while simplifying the mounting of the device on the harvesting machine and the maintenance process.
